NEW 2020 SEASON RASSA RULES FOR COVID 19 (DRAFT)

Safety Rules for Playing/Attending RASSA Games

In order to promote the safety and wellbeing of all RASSA participants, the following rules will apply for the 2020 softball season.

All Participants at the Field (Players and Spectators):

  1. Wear a face mask at all times when you are in the close vicinity of others at the field.
  2. Always try to sneeze into your elbow.
  3. Always try to avoid touching your face.
  4. Bring your own hand sanitizer and use it several times while at the field and please wipe down your bat periodically during the game.
  5. We will abide by the CDC requirement of maintaining at least a “6-foot social distance” from others at all times.

Players:

  1. Both dugouts will be closed.
  2. Each player’s temperature will be taken by designated personnel before they are allowed to enter the field. If it is above normal, the player will be asked to leave the park. They will not be allowed to return until they have been in quarantine for 14 days and then cleared by the league.
  3. Players will be required to bring their own chairs or sit in the stands – again – everyone should be six feet apart.
  4. Players will provide their own water. No water will be provided by the league.
  5. Players will keep their own bats with them and not leave them on the field along the fence to prevent others from using the bat. Your bat should also be wiped down periodically during the game.
  6. When the first game is ended, the two teams will be required to leave the field before the next two teams enter the field.
  7. There will be no contact with other players, specifically including no handshakes, high fives, fist or elbow bumps, or any other form of physical contact. Only nodding, cap tipping, thumbs up, and verbal comments (like “good game”, etc.) are allowed.
  8. The catcher must wear face masks. Batters are encouraged to wear a face mask but it is optional.
  9. The sharing of league bats should be as limited as possible and these bats will be disinfected before the game, periodically during the game and after the game.
  10. Any gatherings of teams or players before or after games will need to follow social distancing recommendations of being 6 feet apart
  11. The setting up and removal of the league equipment will be limited to 2 designated personnel. All other players should refrain from handling the league equipment and should be responsible for their equipment only.
  12. ALL PLAYERS will be required to sign a WAIVER OF LIABILITYAGREEMENT (COVID 19) and the COVID Rules of Play Addendum before they can play in the league.
  13. Beer, by the way, is not an approved COVID-19 treatment

IF AT ANYTIME A PLAYER TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID 19, THE LEAGUE WILL BE SHUT DOWN FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR. PLAYERS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO QUARINTINE THEMSELVES/FAMLY ETC PER CDC GUIDELINES FOR 2 WEEKS. THIS MAY EFFECT YOUR EMPLOYMENT STATUS.
